4 Ideas You Can Steal from these Business Etiquettes

In earlier posts that you can read here, I’ve written about different business etiquettes around the world. Even though I am very careful when it comes to promoting do’s and don’ts (because factually that is what Business Etiquettes really are). Why I’m so skeptical when it comes to do’s and don’ts you can read here.

But for those of you who don’t want to read this let me give you a quick rundown again.

Business Etiquettes: Be Careful!

The biggest problem I find when it comes to do’s and don’ts are that they are very contextual. In other words, what works in one situation doesn’t if the situation (=context) changes. Context, in this case, is about people, places, and situations. But also location, timing, formal versus informal, etc.

On the other hand, it does make sense to know some of the basics of business etiquettes. And for the culturally competent they can even become a topic of conversation when you see a particular do or don’t not happening the way it “should“. Asking why something is happening the way it is happening is always a good way to get to know another culture better.

The Infographic below is a nice example of this. It’s short and to the point.
